During the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar introduced a mandatory Fan ID called the Hayya Card to facilitate entry for international and local fans. Through Hayya’s online platform, over a million visitors obtained Hayya Cards during the tournament.

In 2023, Hayya Portal has been rebranded and upgraded with additional features to become a single portal for all tourist and business visas to Qatar.

This article will discuss everything you need to know about the Hayya Card, including the requirements and step-by-step process on how to apply for different types of visa on the Hayya portal.

Hayya Card Latest Updates

On 16th April 2023, Qatar Tourism relaunched the Hayya Platform as a single portal for all tourist and business visas to Qatar. Visitors who require a visa to enter Qatar can apply through the Hayya Platform, which now offers several visa types. This article has been updated with the latest visa types available on Hayya.

Hayya Card is a personalized and secure identification document issued by the State of Qatar to visitors who apply for an entry permit through the Hayya portal. The digital card has details including the cardholder’s name, photo, status, Hayya number, passport number, QR code and other important information.

  1. Hello Team,

Please confirm when the application returned to update the accomedation , does it mean that the duration of the accommedation should be same duration of flight ?

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Lalla, If you are staying in a hotel, you need to upload the hotel booking to “Upload Other Platforms Booking” under Accommodation menu. The rule is that you should have booking for the number of days you are staying in Qatar. However, you will not upload flight ticket during Hayya application. So the number of days doesn’t matter during application stage, but can be checked during travel.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Yes, you can apply. But Hayya helpline says Discover Qatar hotel booking is required for Indians (while some applicants have already got approval without DQ booking). So please confirm with them.

  2. Hi, got a rejection from the previous application back in Dec 2022 under the early December Hayya (non-ticketed) type of entry.. Now, I am trying to do the new application under A3 but getting an error message “Applicant has already an application for World Cup FIFA Fans 2022”. I cannot proceed to steps 3 and 4 where I upload the visa that I have.

Any advice on how to proceed?

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Scheanneth, Try if you can update the existing application. Go to My Hayya – Action – Update Application. If this option is not available, you have to call Hayya helpline.

  6. Syed Jaseem Shabab

My sisters Haya application continuously getting rejected due to the sequence in name issue. Changed the sequence several times and 5 times got rejected until now. I need to bring them during Eid holidays my parents haya already approved waiting for hers to get approved. Can anyone advise or recommend someone who can really help me ?

      1. I Have mostly the same issue, i got approval for me, my wife and my little daughter (1.5 years) but got rejected for my second daughter (4 years old) and the reason that “occupation not matching the ID” while my daughter not working! The only occupation matching her status is (son/ daughter). I have resubmitted and still pending!

        1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Mohammed, For children under parent sponsorship, occupation should be son/daughter. It will be approved soon.

  7. Good day, I have applied for Hayya Entry Permit and the first time it got rejected for “Sequence of your name is not correct”, so I changed the sequence and wrote my name which has three parts in the First Name section (so there is no space between my first names in the application but there is space between them in my passport). Now my Entry Permit is approved but I worry I will be rejected entry as my there is no space between my name in the Latin format.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Hoss, If your Entry Permit is approved, you won’t face any issue at airport. Only spelling matters, space is OK.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi, As per the available information you cannot change to Hayya without exit. You can call Hayya helpline on 2022 to check this.

  8. Hi DG,
My Husband works in Qatar and has QID already I visited by Hayya with son during the fifa and exit to our country now, but If we get RP but I know that we want to cancel the hayya so I wanted to bring my mother who’s above 60yrs for take care of my son… so how can I bring her to Qatar by Hayya? I have hayya under my husband sponsor no, so pls can you help me or advise me please…..

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Manu, Hayya visa does not require a sponsor (unlike family visit visa or residence permit). Your Hayya was not issued under your husband’s sponsorship. The only connection with your husband is that he is hosting you in his accommodation.
If you want to bring your mother using Hayya in 2023, you should get a Hayya voucher code. If you had purchased a match ticket in 2022, you can see a voucher number in your Hayya account.
To fully understand the process of bringing someone using Hayya With Me, please watch this video: https://youtu.be/I_ZVDCIRyns
Once your mother’s Hayya is approved, your husband can add her to his accommodation and she can come and stay till January 2024..

  14. Hi
Anyone can update me how long it takes to get approval or rejection of hayya with me 2023 submitted application on 26th march for my wife still pending.

  15. Sriman Ansuman

    Hi DG team,
How many days of insurance is required for HAYYA visitors?
I am bringing my family for 3 months.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Sriman, Although MOPH website says you should get insurance until January 2024, it is not being strictly implemented yet. Most people who travelled recently had only insurance for their stay duration. Make sure the insurance is valid at least till the return flight.

  16. Hi DG,
Currently, my wife is in within country with a Family visit visa, can I apply hayya being them inside the country ..?

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Umair, You can apply. But she has to exit and re-enter after Hayya is approved. You cannot convert to Hayya inside country.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Hemin, If you don’t want dependent to be deleted, please confirm this with Hayya helpline as it is risky.

  17. Qatar is such a great HOST. Such a wonderful opportunity for everybody to witness why FIFA 2022 was a big success. Everybody is welcome to come. Thank you QATAR. Thank you DG for walking us through the process.
