After the success of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar has relaunched the Hayya platform with new features and options for applying tourist and business visas. Most visitors have the option of staying with their friends and relatives, but their hosts have to register the accommodation on the Hayya portal.
This article will explain how citizens and residents of Qatar can register host family and friends for Hayya Card approval.

10 FEBRUARY 2024 UPDATE: The deadline for entry under the Hayya With Me (C) scheme came to a close on February 10, 2024. The last date of stay in Qatar will be February 24, 2024.
APRIL 2023 UPDATE: Now you can register only one property and accommodate up to five guests per property. Earlier it was 5 properties and 10 guests per property. Another change is that the host should add the guest before the guest applies for Hayya Card.
Accommodation Requirement For Hayya Card
As part of the Hayya Card approval process for international visitors, you must confirm where you will stay in Qatar. Below are the options available now:
a) Discover Qatar Hotel booking
Visitors can book hotels through Discover Qatar website. A wide range of hotels suitable for every budget is available through this. For some categories of visas, Discover Qatar hotel booking is compulsory.
b) Book Regular Hotel
Accommodation can be booked through hotel/holiday websites or other portals like Tripadvisor. If the visitor is selecting this option, they have to upload their booking details on the Hayya portal using “Upload Other Platforms Booking”.
c) Stay with Family or Friends
Staying with family or friends is the cheapest and most convenient option as you could enjoy a few days in Doha without spending much. However, if you opt for this option, your host must register their property on the official Hayya portal and add your details. Read below to learn how a host can register his/her property.
Requirements To Host Family And Friends
The following are the requirements to host family and friends for Hayya:
- The host should be 18 years old and over.
- The host should be a Qatari citizen or resident with a valid QID.
- The host should own or rent the property.
Please note that a Hayya card is NOT required for the host unless he/she is attending a match.
How To Host Family and Friends For Hayya
Residents who host families and friends must register their properties and verify the visitors’ information as below:
Step 1: Go to the Hayya Qatar website
The website link is https://hayya.qa/
Step 2: Sign in using the “My Hayya” account
Click on “My Hayya” at the top right. Sign in using your email ID and password.
If you don’t have a Hayya account, you can create an account by clicking on “My Hayya”.
Step 3: Click on “Accommodation” and select “Host Family & Friends”
This is a drop-down menu on the top-right of the page.
Step 4: Enter your QID number and date of birth
- Agree to the Legal Liability Disclaimer.
- Enter your Qatar ID number and date of birth. Click on “Validate my QID”.
- You will receive an OTP as an SMS on your registered phone number. Enter the OTP and click on “Verify OTP”.
Step 5: Enter your property details
- You must provide the property name, zone number, street number, building number, and unit number. The property name can be anything you can identify, especially if you have more than one property. The unit number can be “1” if you live in a villa.
- Choose if you own this property or rent this property.
- Upload the property deed, lease agreement or utility bill. National Address Certificate is also being approved.
- Click on “Validate & Add”.
- The property will be added to your list.
- You can add only one property under your name (April 2023 update).
Step 6: Enter the guest details
- Select the property and click on the “Manage Guests” button.
- Enter your guest’s name, passport number, nationality, and email ID.
- Click on the “Add” button.
- Once the application is submitted, the guest’s Hayya Card application will be validated automatically. The guest will receive an email that he/she has been invited to stay with you.
- You can add a maximum of 5 guests per property (April 2023 update).

What The Guest Needs To Do
The guest only needs to apply for a Hayya Card.
The guest details will be matched using the name, passport number and nationality. The guest’s accommodation arrangements will be validated upon confirmation of the details.

How many family members or friends can I host?
You can register only one property and accommodate up to five guests per property.

Can I change property details after registration?
A property can only be deleted if no guests are assigned to it. Once a property is added and has guests assigned to it, it cannot be deleted or changed.

Hi Ruel, As far as we know there is no option to extend ETA visa now. You may check directly with Qatar Government Helpline (109) or Hayya Helpline (800 2022). If it is not extendable he will have to exit, apply for new visa and re-enter. You can also check if your nationality is eligible for visa on arrival.
Is discover qatar mandatory for hayya tourist visa indian nationals? Any new updates?
Hi Mohammed, The line which says about DQ requirement for Indians has been removed from Visit Qatar website. Also recently those who applied with Family and Friends hosting has received approvals. So it seems it is not required now.
In the host after adding accomodation, while trying to add guest name, only 20 letters allowed by hayya portal but guest name consist of more than 20 letter. Can i add just given name on passport and dont add surname ? Any issues? Pls reply soon. Hayya helpline is useless they said you can 20 letters and dont know further.
Hi Mohamed, For host account, enter as many characters as possible. Don’t skip the surname.

Hi Mohammed, You can invite now. Make sure to use the correct email id and the guest receives invitation email.
When i create a new hayya account for my guest – i am unable to add space in both given name and surname. For ex : passport name – Mohamed Abbas but in hayya portal i am able to type MohamedAbbas as one name. Is it like this??? Also, in host account after adding accomodation, when i add guest only 20 letter allowed for guest while name consist of more than 20 letters
Hi Mohamed, You can give the name without space also. Usually it is accepted as it is a system issue. For host account, enter as many characters as possible. This is also accepted.

Hi Yhel, We are hearing this requirement for the first time. Usually you only need to upload Tenancy Contract under your name (or National Address Certificate). Did the Hayya Customer Care asked you to submit an affidavit?

I’m trying to get my wife to visit Qatar through “Hosting family and friends Category”.
Im not previous hayya card holder/non-ticket holder.
So i already listed my accomodation, listed my wife already on my guest.
She already made her hayya account, and already received the email confirmation of the invitation.
What are the next steps?
Does she still need a voucher number?
Because i’m looking for the “Action” button on my hayya account and there is none. So i could not provide her a voucher number.
Hi Carlo, If you are looking for Hayya With Me option, you will need a voucher code. If you are a Qatar resident, you will not find the voucher in your account. Only non-residents can get this.

Hi Carmie, Yes, you can host family or friends. There is no criteria regarding number of rooms. For Hayya With Me (with voucher code), the guest can stay until 23 January 2024. For tourist visa, they can stay for 30 days only.

Hi Srikanth, If the guest has received email invitation, and the spelling mistake is minor it should be OK. However it would also depend on the airline as some airlines are very strict. Please check with airline before travel.

Hi Mohammed, Host QID already used message is shown when your QID number has been already used to register as a host. If you are not getting any SMS, either your number is not linked with Metrash or there is a system error. Please contact Hayya Support at [email protected] or or 800 2022.
I created accommodation under the hayya of the guest account and invited herself as a guest, is there any way to delete the property or the guest so I can add it to right account, because when I add a property it says the QID is already in use
Hi EM, Many others have done the same mistake. So far it is accepted by airlines as long as the guest details on the invitation email are correct.

Hi Shameer, So far we have seen that this mistake is being accepted. Many others who did the same were allowed to travel. Just make sure guest details are correct.

Hi Smijesh, As per the policy on Hayya website, you need insurance until January. However so far most airlines are allowing those with insurance up to their return date (as per ticket). If your airline insists that you should take policy for full duration, you have to take new policy online (you can do this on your mobile phone while at the airport also).

Hi Raghavan, There is no connection with voucher and hosting.
(1) Vouchers are only required to apply for Hayya With Me (visa type which is valid till January 2024). For Tourist Visa and GCC Resident Visa, voucher is not needed, but their visa validity is only 30 days.
(2) Qatar residents can host up to 5 visitors coming on any of these categories, but the visitor should apply for visa and he will need voucher if applying for Hayya With Me.

Hi Anisur, It depends on your visa type. For “Hayya With Me” it is unlimited till 23 January 2024. For other types, visa validity is 30 days.
