How To Do Ehteraz Pre-Travel Registration For Qatar (2022)

In July 2021, Qatar has launched an online pre-travel registration service for travellers arriving in Qatar. The service known as Ehteraz Pre-Travel Registration is mandatory for all travellers without a Qatar ID or Qatari passport.

The Ehteraz pre-registration system for those coming to Qatar aims to facilitate the arrival process, verify the health requirements and decide if quarantine is required or the traveller is exempted.

Using this online platform, passengers can upload all required documents, such as vaccination certificates and other relevant data to avoid hassle and long queues at the airport.

16 MARCH 2022 UPDATE: GCC and European Union (EU) nationals and residents who meet the immunity criteria, can use the authorized health information app for COVID-19 from their country and will not need to complete the Ehteraz pre-travel registration.

2 DECEMBER 2021 UPDATE: As per the latest guidelines on the MOPH website, non-residents of Qatar must apply through the Ehteraz website and upload all relevant documents such as vaccine certificates at least 3 days before arrival.

As per the new update, PCR test result is no longer required during the Ehteraz pre-registration process. Instead, travellers must present the original copy of the PCR test result to the airlines in order to allow them to board the plane, or at the country’s ports.

According to MOPH, all visitors will be required to download all official documents and present the Ehteraz travel permit to the airline employees (in case of travelling through Hamad International Airport) to allow them to board the aircraft, or to the immigration employees at the land borders (in the event of travelling through Abu Samra land port).

NOTE: Ehteraz pre-travel registration should not be confused with the Ehteraz mobile app which is a different service to be used once you are inside Qatar.

This article explains the step-by-step process of how to do the Ehteraz pre-registration and answers frequently asked questions.

Is Pre-Travel Registration Compulsory for All Travellers?

No, as per the latest announcement on 13 July 2021, registering on the Ehteraz website is compulsory only for travellers without a valid Qatar ID / Qatar Passport. However, Qatari Citizens and Residents can also register online to make their travel smoother.

Hi, i would like to bring my wife and daughter to qatar by on arrival visa , is that possible to travel non vaccinated daughter with full vaccinated mother , daughter 2 years old only ..!

  9. Hi,

I just want to clarify something about ETA/e-Visas because it’s hard to find concrete details everywhere in the net.

I am a Filipino citizen (Philippines), who is currently a permanent resident in France since 2015.

I wish to go there in Doha, Qatar as a tourist. As per in the Qatar website, I would only need an ETA; however, clicking through links to apply for ETA online, it always say “Under the instructions of the Ministry of Public Health, entry to the State of Qatar for all foreign nationals are temporarily suspended. Hence our visa services will remain suspended till further instructions.”

How do I get an ETA? Are tourists not allowed at the moment in Qatar?

I had signed up in Ehteraz, and I was approved. Is the Etheraz approval equal to ETA?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Rizi, The tourist visa is still not open, but tourists can come on a family visit visa or visa on arrival. ETA service is currently suspended. Most nationalities that required ETA can get a visa on arrival, but unfortunately, the Philippines is not on the list. You can call the government helpline on +974-44069999 to check what are your options.

  10. Looks like if you have Qatari resident permit card than your entry permit application gets approved automatically (instantly). If you are a visitor than it will go UNDER PROCESS. Some people get a response with in 24 hours but some may take longer with no way of knowing if you will be approved before your check-in at the airport.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Yes, you are right. Nowadays you have the option to apply as early as 7 days before travel (without PCR result). This will give more time for approval and less tension.

  11. Am traveling to qatar on 25 /12/2021. On arriaval. And i took the vaccone on 10/12/2021. Am i eligible for two days quarentine or o have to tale 7 days quarentine

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Afsal, If this was your second dose, you are eligible for 2 days quarantine. You would be considered fully vaccinated as 14 days have passed after your second dose.

  12. Ehteraz is the worst service ever I have seen for countries. I applied 3 days before travel for family and it was under process and we missed the flight and when I am eligible for visa free entry. All documents were uploaded.
The contact center is useless and they can just create complain tkt. No way to contact with the folks approving Pre registeration. No Transparency, No Responsibility.
Qatar immigration has created a system and they cant manage it.

    1. Muhammad Haseeb Shafiq

Hi, I am traveling from Philadelphia Airport USA to Doha, We are 6 passengers. 2 Adults(me & my wife) 4 children ages 7,5,2,1) everyone is visitor. 2. Doha Guides Team
