31 AUGUST 2024 UPDATE
The General Traffic Directorate at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has extended the 50% discount on traffic fines for an additional three months. This extension will be in effect from September 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024.
It applies to all vehicles, including those of citizens, residents, visitors, and GCC nationals. The discount covers violations recorded within the past three years, starting from June 1, 2024. Additionally, from September 1, 2024, individuals with unpaid traffic fines will be prohibited from leaving Qatar until all fines are settled.
04 SEPTEMBER 2023 UPDATE
From 3 September 2023, the General Directorate of Traffic has started implement automated monitoring for traffic violations of not wearing a seat belt and using a mobile phone while driving. The new radar systems are capable of simultaneously detecting three violations: failure to use a seatbelt, mobile phone usage, and speeding.
Seatbelt fine (QR 500) are eligible for a discount if settled within 30 days. However, using a mobile phone incurs a fine of QR 500 with no discount option.

Hi Raj, You can request this on Metrash mobile app.
A traffic police officer stopped me and issued a ticket, when I asked what mistake he said something in Arabic, I understand only saying mobile, I did not use mobile and I don’t like to use mobile while driving also. The appeal option in metrash 2 does not work. I am willing to pay the fine if I have done something without any hesitation but don’t want to do for false accusation. Please advise what to do
In Metrash2, when we enter vehicle chassis number for accident details, its shows count 9, what’s the number 9 or 8 means.

Dear,
I received traffic violation notice 16 th April 2023, try to remember mistakes, checking Metrash, found 5th February 2023 (two and half months ago) I across the white line to give way to ambulance. I am worried that give way to ambulance should not be fined!.
Please give guidance to request for waiver.
Hi AbdulRashid, You can check the traffic violation service in Metrash and see if violation image is available (steps are explained above). If you are sure it was for the ambulance, you can either appeal online or go to Traffic Department and speak to the captain.
