After the success of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar has relaunched the Hayya platform with new features and options for applying tourist and business visas. Most visitors have the option of staying with their friends and relatives, but their hosts have to register the accommodation on the Hayya portal.
This article will explain how citizens and residents of Qatar can register host family and friends for Hayya Card approval.

10 FEBRUARY 2024 UPDATE: The deadline for entry under the Hayya With Me (C) scheme came to a close on February 10, 2024. The last date of stay in Qatar will be February 24, 2024.
APRIL 2023 UPDATE: Now you can register only one property and accommodate up to five guests per property. Earlier it was 5 properties and 10 guests per property. Another change is that the host should add the guest before the guest applies for Hayya Card.
Accommodation Requirement For Hayya Card
As part of the Hayya Card approval process for international visitors, you must confirm where you will stay in Qatar. Below are the options available now:
a) Discover Qatar Hotel booking
Visitors can book hotels through Discover Qatar website. A wide range of hotels suitable for every budget is available through this. For some categories of visas, Discover Qatar hotel booking is compulsory.
b) Book Regular Hotel
Accommodation can be booked through hotel/holiday websites or other portals like Tripadvisor. If the visitor is selecting this option, they have to upload their booking details on the Hayya portal using “Upload Other Platforms Booking”.
c) Stay with Family or Friends
Staying with family or friends is the cheapest and most convenient option as you could enjoy a few days in Doha without spending much. However, if you opt for this option, your host must register their property on the official Hayya portal and add your details. Read below to learn how a host can register his/her property.
Requirements To Host Family And Friends
The following are the requirements to host family and friends for Hayya:
- The host should be 18 years old and over.
- The host should be a Qatari citizen or resident with a valid QID.
- The host should own or rent the property.
Please note that a Hayya card is NOT required for the host unless he/she is attending a match.
How To Host Family and Friends For Hayya
Residents who host families and friends must register their properties and verify the visitors’ information as below:
Step 1: Go to the Hayya Qatar website
The website link is https://hayya.qa/
Step 2: Sign in using the “My Hayya” account
Click on “My Hayya” at the top right. Sign in using your email ID and password.
If you don’t have a Hayya account, you can create an account by clicking on “My Hayya”.
Step 3: Click on “Accommodation” and select “Host Family & Friends”
This is a drop-down menu on the top-right of the page.
Step 4: Enter your QID number and date of birth
- Agree to the Legal Liability Disclaimer.
- Enter your Qatar ID number and date of birth. Click on “Validate my QID”.
- You will receive an OTP as an SMS on your registered phone number. Enter the OTP and click on “Verify OTP”.
Step 5: Enter your property details
- You must provide the property name, zone number, street number, building number, and unit number. The property name can be anything you can identify, especially if you have more than one property. The unit number can be “1” if you live in a villa.
- Choose if you own this property or rent this property.
- Upload the property deed, lease agreement or utility bill. National Address Certificate is also being approved.
- Click on “Validate & Add”.
- The property will be added to your list.
- You can add only one property under your name (April 2023 update).
Step 6: Enter the guest details
- Select the property and click on the “Manage Guests” button.
- Enter your guest’s name, passport number, nationality, and email ID.
- Click on the “Add” button.
- Once the application is submitted, the guest’s Hayya Card application will be validated automatically. The guest will receive an email that he/she has been invited to stay with you.
- You can add a maximum of 5 guests per property (April 2023 update).

What The Guest Needs To Do
The guest only needs to apply for a Hayya Card.
The guest details will be matched using the name, passport number and nationality. The guest’s accommodation arrangements will be validated upon confirmation of the details.

How many family members or friends can I host?
You can register only one property and accommodate up to five guests per property.

Can I change property details after registration?

I have recieved two voucher code for my sister and her son. With that, i have applied for haya card for them and got approval . After that i need to host them , bi mistakely i login my sisters haya account and fill all the details like i have given my qid , my propert details etc and finally manage guest came so i add my sister and hers son, name ,passport number, nationality. So the invitation email from her came to my email like my sister has invited me to host in qatar with all the property details like zone street etc . Now what i will do?. It must go to her email id like i have invited her to stay here.

Hi Shemi, This mistake has happened with others also, but they were not denied entry. Scan the QR code on their Entry Permit and see if their accommodation status has changed. Keep all documents including your QID copy, tenancy contract, email print out etc.

Hi Disha, If the visitor has approved Hayya Entry Permit, but is not invited by any Qatar resident, visitor will need hotel booking.

My sister is coming from UK on March 15…she got entry permit and accomodation approval….but the mistake is we entered the host family and friends option in her hayya portal itself uploaded all the documents and got validated and got accomodation approval in her email…in this case we can able to travel??

Hi Nivetha, If the invitation email has all details of the host, it should be OK. Just print it out along with host’s QID copy and tenancy agreement copy.

Hi Nivetha, It will be checked during check-in (by airline staff). Even if the invitation email doesn’t have name, keep copies of the host’s QID and blue address plate.

Hi Novi, We have seen people coming on one day hotel booking and staying for longer period, but we cannot confirm if this is the correct way. If you are going to stay longer, our advice is to add yourself as a guest to any Qatar resident’s accommodation. This can be any friend or family member. By doing so, you don’t have to worry about hotel.

Hi Ki, Nothing else to be done. Soon her Hayya Entry Permit’s accommodation status will be updated. Even if it doesn’t update she can travel will the invitation email and other documents.

Once the Host added visitor details in their hayya, in the same way the visitor also should upload the same tenancy contract again in their hayya also inorder to get approval.

Hi Karthik, No, nothing needs to be done from the visitor’s account. Once the host adds the visitor, the system will match it with the visitor’s passport number and link them automatically. The visitor will get an invitation email from Hayya. Sometimes it would take time to update the visitor’s accommodation type. Usually it is done within 48 hours. Even if the accommodation type shows blank, the invitation received on email (and other documents like Hayya Entry Permit) is good enough to travel.
On my hayya entry permit it is written download the app.. i don’t know which app should be downloaded? Or Is hayya app is compulsory to download or only hayya entry permit is required at airport?
Hi Aisha, the app is “Hayya To Qatar 2022”. You can download and login with the same email and password used for Hayya account. The printed entry permit is enough at airport as they can scan the QR code.
Good Day! We have approved Hayya Card for FAN. The Host add the QID and Property in FAN ID instead of his own. Now the Property is registered and Guest received Email but from his own Hayya Account.
How to Change / Delete QID from FAN Card ?? Or Can delete property from FAN that the Host can configure in his account.

While adding accomodation, email id of guest was mistakenly type wrong and couldn’t get a invitation mail so the host tried to add it again with right mail id but it shows that this is already added in your guest list..on the other the accomodation type of guest is also showing the status of host family and friends..is accomodation is added to guest account or not?

Hi Mubeen, That will not work. Other platform is for hotel booking. For hosting a guest, you need to do all the steps as explained above (Validate QID, upload contract, get invitation email).
I suppose to host my cousin with my hayya card but mistakenly I used her to host herself. So now it shows she is hosting herself. On this bases how many hotel days do I have to book? Please kindly inform me that are coming on this 6th. I try to call hayya customer services some say 1 day some say 2 days. Please do lemme know if anyone knows about this.

Hi Maya, If your cousin has already received invitation email, that is fine. Even if applied through her account, there will be a QID number and tenancy contract which is validated. Just scan her Entry Permit QR code and see if accommodation status is showing as “host family and friends”. If yes, no need to book hotel.

Hi Sitti, You can request any of your friends who have a tenancy contract under their name. Note that in that case, the hosting request should be through your friend’s Hayya account (not yours). Officially, the friend will be the host.

Hi Garima, If you have received invitation email (after your family added you as guest), your Hayya account will be updated. If there is no change even after couple of days call Hayya helpline.

Hi Saira, It should be done by the host in his account. He doesn’t need a Hayya Card. He can make new Hayya account with his email id and validate account using his Qatar ID number and mobile number. Please read the above article carefully or watch the video. All steps are explained.
