What Is Tawtheeq?
Tawtheeq is the National Authentication System (NAS) launched by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC). It provides unified access to various government e-services smoothly, safely and quickly.
With Tawtheeq, users can access several e-government services using the same username and password thus saving time and effort and delivering the services faster.
Nowadays you need Tawtheeq to access a number of services like Registering for COVID-19 Vaccine, Applying for an Exceptional Entry Permit etc.
What Are The Benefits Of Tawtheeq?
Tawtheeq offers numerous advantages to both digital service providers and users. These include:
- Online user registration, user verification, and unified access.
- Single username and password with multi-factor authentication or a smart ID card.
- Digital signature service for users to easily sign government transactions.
- The system simplifies the process of connecting government entities to the service via standard protocols.
- Secure access to e-services.
Enhanced Online Security With Tawtheeq
Tawtheeq is a digital identity verification function. It provides safe authentication consistent with the best information security practices.
It also offers appropriate solutions to constraints that government entities face while developing their digital services such as the difficulty of verifying user credibility online during electronic transactions and the vulnerability of digital identities to theft or hacking.
Requirements for Tawtheeq Registration
Requirements for registration are as follows:
- Citizens & Residents: Qatar ID + Qatar Mobile Number
- Visitors & Users Abroad: Email ID + International Mobile Number
If you are inside Qatar and do not have a Qatari mobile number, you can call 109 to activate.
For visitors and users abroad, the account will work automatically.
How To Create A Tawtheeq Account
Here are the steps on how to create a new user account on Tawtheeq (National Authentication System) website:
Step 1: Go to the NAS website self service page
Step 2: Click on “Register”
Step 3: Select an Account Type
Choose “Qatar citizens and residents” (unless you are a visitor or business representative).
Step 4: Enter your Qatar ID and mobile number
Enter the captcha and then click on “Continue”. After this you will receive an OTP verification code on your mobile.
If the mobile is not under your ownership, your account will be created but not active and you have to contact the call centre on 109 to activate your account.
Step 5: Enter the verification code received on your mobile
After entering the verification OTP, click on “Continue”.
Step 6: Fill in your personal details
Details include your Nationality, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, National Address, P.O. Box and Email ID. Click on “Continue”. You need to fill in the name in one language (English or Arabic) only.
Step 7: Set a password
Re-enter the password and click on “Continue”.
Step 8: Confirmation message
Your Tawtheeq account will be activated after this step.
What To Do If Tawtheeq Qatar Account Is Suspended
If your Tawtheeq account has been suspended due to any reason, here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Go to the NAS website self-service page
Step 2: Click on “Unsuspend Account”
Step 3: Enter your Qatar ID and mobile number
Enter the captcha and then on “Send verification code”. After this you will receive an OTP verification code on mobile.
Step 4: Enter the verification code received on your mobile
After entering the verification OTP, your account will be reactivated.
How To Reset Tawtheeq Qatar Password
In case you forget your Tawtheeq account password, here is what you have to do:
Step 1: Go to the NAS website self service page
Step 2: Click on “Reset Password”
Step 3: Enter your Qatar ID and mobile number
Enter the captcha and then on “Send verification code”. After this, you will receive an OTP verification code on mobile.
Step 4: Enter the verification code received on your mobile
After entering the verification OTP, you can set a new password for your account.
How To Change Mobile Number in NAS Qatar (Tawtheeq)
Step 1: Go to NAS website self service page
Step 2: Log in using your username and password
Step 3: Click on “Mobile Number” on top menu
Step 4: Enter your new mobile number
Step 5: Click on “Continue” and confirm
Tawtheeq Qatar Mobile Application
Tawtheeq has a mobile app that offers a secure one-time password (OTP) generation on your mobile device, and allows single tab authentication approval. The Tawtheeq app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or App Store.
When launching the application for the first time, you need to register your device by login into your Tawtheeq account and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can approve log-in to your account when your device is connected to the Internet or generate OTP if you are offline.
Tawtheeq app requires access to the phone and location, to identify the user device ID and location.

Hi Noushad, Since their QID has expired and it is already two years, an online permit may not work. You have to directly visit MOI Service Center and check.

Currently i am on Visitor visa in Qatar and i have already received both covid vaccine injection and already registered for NAS. But when i am trying to download my vaccine certificate then i am receiving (SPUB105: Invalid activation code).

I would like to seek for assistance regarding the registration of my children who are minors and they are not yet registered under my husband’s Qatar ID. We have been calling NAS since October 5, 2021 and today is Nov 5, 2021, it’s been one month already. Every time he calls different staff answers the phone and they give different advices. Until we spoke to a certain Mr. Seri and advised us that we need to buy Ooredoo to register my daughter’s name under their own mobile nos. This morning somebody from NAS called my husband for 7 seconds (which is registered in his mobile) when he was about to answer the phone the other end hung up the call. When my husband returned the call and they are saying nobody answered. Still he returned the call and they are giving another reason. This evening he called again nothing happened. When I called twice this evening, they also gave different advices and said that they were calling my husband through Teams at 10 AM. For the whole month he’s been calling nobody informed that they were supposed to call him through Teams, yet they called him on Nov 4 through mobile. Mr. Yasin from NAS, told me that the Technical team will call my husband at 10 AM tomorrow through Teams, and my husband has installed the Teams in his mobile. I am desperately seeking for your assistance to help and give us the correct procedure to register the Ehteraz of my daughters under my husband’s Qatar ID. We are law abiding residents of Qatar and I truly hope that you could extend your support.

Hi Kathryn, Sorry to hear that. Ehteraz Pre-travel Registration is not mandatory for QID holders. And Ehteraz mobile app is not required for minor children to enter shops, restaurants etc. So just wondering why are trying to do registration for your children?
