  1. Dear Doha Guides Team
I applied of RP for my Newborn, It’s 4 weeks now, The status is Under Process then become Under Review and now become Under Process again. I hope it will be done soon, anyway I applied the RP 61 days after she was born, I would like to know if Penalty will be applied because RP application should be done within 60 days if I’m not mistaken. Thank you.

    Hi Doha Guide Team,

    Good afternoon.

I have applied for family RP for my wife and daughter on 25/02/2024 and yet the application status is under process. There was no change in status to even “Under review”. I did visit the center for follow up on 11/03/2024 and got notified by one of their staffs that it will be done within a week- but no update so far yet.

Is this a normal time frame and procedure or should i revisit them or wait?- Please suggest.

  3. Jobin Chacko Jacob

plz mention what is the timing during Ramdan

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Jobin, Ramadan timing is 8 am to 1 pm. However, entry to Duhail Immigration is restricted nowadays. They allow only in rare cases (and when not busy).

  5. Dear Admin,
I have applied family visit visa for my parents it was applied on 20 of Feb 2024. But pendu good please advise my tickets were booked also

  6. ur given information is wrong, we are not even allowed to enter to there office. Even in month of Ramadan there behavior was too rude, not even like to speak to us. They give me no information and returned me from the entry gate

So do not share the information if u are not fully aware
It is about Duhail Immigration office

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Assad, Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Duhail Immigration allows entry on some days and do not allow entry some other days (this is their choice based on how busy it is). Somedays the security is instructed not to allow any visitors. You will only know that if you try visiting. You can read the comments on this article to see the experience of hundreds of others who visited Duhail for follow-up: https://www.dohaguides.com/family-visa-in-qatar-requirements-documents/

  7. Hello,

Anyone visited after the application status changed to Under Review. I visited last week (Tuesday) and the status changed to Under Review. It is still in the same status. Please update if anyone visited MOI with this status.

    Thanks

      1. I applied for family rp on 27th feb. but status showing under review since last 7 days. Is Duhail immigration allowing follow up? Anyone have idea how long does it take to approve?
        Thanks

        1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Muhammad, Things can be slow during Ramadan. Entry to Duhail Immigration is restricted nowadays. They allow only in rare cases (and when not busy).

      2. Hello. Same also here, I applied and it’s been more than 3 weeks now and still “Under Review”. I went yesterday there for follow up and told me that, “It’s ok now, just wait for SMS and apply the QID in Metrash2”, but still until now I didn’t receive SMS from MOI and still the status is “Under Review”.

  8. Dear Doha Guides

Resident Permit for my baby born here. Visa Status: Under Review for 5 days now, Should I follow up in Immigration or I just wait till it approved? How about the penalty if the resident permit not approved within 60 days? As the time limit is only 60 days for newborn visa.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi KeiLei, The requirement is that you should apply within 60 days. Even if the approval gets delayed you won’t have to pay penalty.

  9. Dear Doha Guide
I applied for an Resident Permit for my newborn baby last Feb. 25, 2024. She was born here and showed under process for 10 days, So I decided to come at Duhail New Immigration to follow up, After the follow up from “Under Process” become “Under Review” the lady in the counter tell me to check after 3days. And it’s 5 days now but still Under Review. What should I do?

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi KeiLei, If it is urgent you may visit again for follow-up or else you can wait for few more days. It is normal to take 1-3 weeks when applying through Metrash.

  10. Dear Doha Guides,

Good day,I just want to ask if I can apply directly the QID of my son which born here in qatar and my wife is under my sponsorship without submitting a new NOC?

    Thanks,

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Pedro, You don’t need NOC if your wife is under your sponsorship and baby is born in Qatar.

  11. Hello, I am in the process of name change and I applied through Metrash and submitted documents.Later I received a SMS ”Please visit the Committee for looking into Changing Names requests and bring all required documents”.
Please advise where should I go to fix this and what all documents required in this process?

  12. Dear Doha Guide Line,
    Good Day.
I would just like to know if there is any possibility to follow up family visit visa, I applied in metrash however still shows under process. Currently my spouse had a medical surgery and in need of assistance with my in laws to take care of my child. Would it help if I visit immigration office to follow up my application for visit visa?

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Jason, If it has been more than 2-3 weeks you can visit Duhail Immigration (Hall 6) for follow-up. Note that sometimes the security will not allow you to enter (depends on your luck). It is better to go after 1 pm when it is not too busy.

  13. Name correction in QID is to be done? Which immigration office I should visit? Babys will be allowed inside? Documents required?

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Akshata, If it is a name correction (fixing a spelling mistake to be as per the passport), you can visit any MOI Service Center with the original passport. This is usually easy to do.
If it is a name change (there is a change in your name) the process is longer. You will need to advertise in the newspaper and apply on Metrash with that ad. Please contact a typing center for that.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi ND, The application is rejected due to some unspecified reason (sometimes this happens due to system error also). If you believe you meet the eligibility criteria, apply again on Metrash or visit Duhail Immigration with all documents.

  14. Dear Doha Guide line Team,
My name is Numan, My Baby was born in Qatar on November 28, 2023, and we will be leaving on 21 February, my Wife is on Hayya Visa,
Do i really need a special permit from MOI for my baby to exit Qatar? i am afraid that what if I face any complications during the immigration process at the airport? i humbly request your goodwill to advise on this please.
    Thank you.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Mohammed, As per law the process is as follows: (1) Apply for the birth certificate (even if the mother is on a visit visa) (2) After getting the birth certificate, apply for the passport, (3) Apply for baby’s visa on Metrash. The baby will get a visit visa like the mother. Once you have a visa, there is no need for an exit permit. If you don’t have time for all this, please call 109 for more assistance.

  15. Myself Gowtham am applying family visiting visa last week of January but still they showing under process kindly advise

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Gowatham, 1-3 weeks is normal for processing. If you want you can follow up at Duhail Immigration, Hall number 6.

  16. Dear Doha Guide lines.,
    Good Day.
My self Saravan , I’m applied family visit visa for my wife brother on Jan 24th , After I’m submitted the application I received application mail from MOI.
I’m closed metrash application and Reopened the Family visit Visa section , But now again showing Upload Docs ( Wife / Husband RP , Wife / Passport copy and next page Vister Docs asking) , But I’m already attached and submitted the application but Metrash app asking the same docs.

When I’m uploading the same docs in the application page, But the process and submission was not completing.

    kindly advise the above query.

    Thanks
    Saravan.

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Saravan, Nowadays the Metrash app is having such issues. You can try taking the photos of documents through Metrash app camera feature (instead of uploading saved files). This seems to be working for many applicants.

  17. Good Day Doha Guide,

Is there a chance to convert my family visit visa to family residence visa, thru wife sponsorship, her current salary is 6300qr?

    Thank you

    1. Doha Guides Team

Hi Darryl, If her employer is giving family accommodation (in addition to 6000 salary), and her profession is good, she can try applying. Otherwise, it is difficult.
