Eid Al Fitr Working Hours And Holidays in Qatar

Eid al-Fitr is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. 

This year, Eid Al-Fitr in Qatar will fall on the 21st or 22nd of April. Here’s what you need to know about Eid Al Fitr working hours and holidays in Qatar.

Eid Al Fitr Holidays for Public Sector

Qatar’s Amiri Diwan has announced that the Eid Al Fitr holidays will start on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, and end on Thursday, April 27, 2023, for ministries, government entities, and public institutions. Employees are set to resume work on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

As for Qatar Central Bank (QCB), banks and financial institutions working under the supervision of QCB and Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), the Governor of Qatar Central Bank shall specify the start and the end of the holiday.

Eid Al Fitr Holidays for Private Sector

According to the Ministry of Labour, private sector workers subject to the Labor Law will have three days of paid Eid holidays. If the worker is required to work during the Eid holidays, the provisions of Article (74) of the Labor Law relating to overtime work and allowances shall apply.

Eid Al Fitr Holidays for Financial Institutions

Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced the Eid Al Fitr holidays for all financial institutions in the country. The holiday will commence from Sunday, April 23, 2023, until Tuesday, April 25, 2023. QCB also stated that all financial institutions will resume their operations on April 26, 2023.

MOI Working Hours During Eid Al Fitr

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced the working hours in its various service and security departments during Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

The Ministry indicated that working hours for the departments of security nature and traffic investigation departments will be around the clock, while the working hours in service departments (Passports, Traffic, Nationality and Travel Documents, and Criminal Evidence and Investigation Department) will be from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.

MOPH Working Hours During Eid Al Fitr

The Ministry of Public Health announced the working hours in each of the birth registration offices, the Department of Medical Relations and Treatment Abroad, during the blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
 
The Ministry stated that applications for the issuance of birth certificates for newborns during the blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday will be received electronically only through the registration link, through the website of the Ministry of Public Health.

Visitors can collect birth certificates through the Newborns Registration Office at the Women’s Wellness and Research Center from 8:30 am to 12 pm, or by delivery via Qatar Post.

The service of issuing death certificates will also be provided at the Office of Human Services throughout the Eid Al-Fitr holidays, from 8:30 am to 12 noon.  Receiving applications for the Births and Deaths Committee will be suspended during the Eid holiday.

As for the appointments for receiving patients from the Medical Relations and Treatment Abroad Department at the Ministry of Public Health building will be from April 19 to 27, 2023, from 9 am to 11:45 pm, except for Friday and Saturday.

Inquiries related to treatment abroad are received via the hotline 33559950. Patients can also track the status of the transaction and travel procedures through the electronic system via the link that is sent to them by text message from the beginning of the transaction.

HMC Working Hours During Eid Al Fitr

Qatar’s Hamad Medical Corporation announced that the emergency services will continue to operate 24 hours throughout the holiday period as normal.

The Pediatric Emergency Centers will also operate 24 hours throughout the holiday period as normal for medical emergencies involving children under the age of 14 years.

The Ambulance Service will continue to operate normal service during this period for people requiring emergency medical assistance.

  • Outpatient clinics and Urgent Consultation Service will be closed from Wednesday, April 19 through to April 27 and reopen on Sunday, April 30.
  • The National Mental Health Helpline will operate on April 19 and 20 from 8 am to 8 pm. It will be closed from Friday, April 21, to Tuesday, April 25. From April 26 to 29, the helpline will operate 9 am to 2 pm and return to normal operating hours from Sunday, April 30.
  • The Pharmacy Home Delivery Service will be closed from Wednesday, April 19, through to Thursday, April 27, and reopen on Sunday, April 30.
  • The 16000 Government Healthcare Hotline will continue to operate 24/7.

HMC’s Blood Donor Center at the West Energy Center will be closed on April 21 and 22 and will re-open April 23 to 27 from 10am to 8pm. It will close on April 28 and open again on April 29, 10am to 8pm.

FAHES Working Hours During Eid Al Fitr

On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, the official holiday in WOQOD Vehicles inspection (FAHES) will commence from Wednesday, April 19 to April 27, 2023. 

However, its Industrial area stations and FAHES Mazrouah will operate from April 19 to April 27 from 6am to 2pm, except for Friday and Saturday.

Traffic Services at the mentioned stations will also be available from 8am to 12pm. Gates will close at 1:30pm.

FAHES will resume its normal duties on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Panda House Opening Hours During Eid Al Fitr

The Ministry of Municipality announced the visiting hours at the Panda House Park during the Eid Al Fitr holiday. According to the announcement, Panda House would be open from 9 am to 5 pm.

Al Khor Park will open from 8 am to 11 pm during Eid Al Fitr holidays.
