Hamad International Airport Travel Advisory
Following are the important things to keep in mind if you are travelling during the Eid Al Adha holidays:
HIA Short Term Parking Arrangements
To accommodate the high volume of passengers, Hamad International Airport will provide short-term parking for all travelers. From June 15 to June 30, the first 60 minutes of parking will be free, while the standard parking rates will apply thereafter.
Similarly, from 6 to 10 July, the free 60 minutes parking will be reinstated during specific time frames: 5am – 8am; 5pm – 7pm; and 10:30pm – 2:30am. After 60 minutes, the standard parking rates will apply.
Motorists are advised to use the short-term car park for drop-offs and pick-ups, and it is important not to leave vehicles unattended at the curbside.
Passengers have multiple public transport options available, including taxis, buses, and the Doha Metro, for their convenience.
Check-in and Baggage Drop
Passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to their scheduled departure time, unless their respective airline specifies otherwise.
Qatar Airways passengers traveling to various destinations, excluding the United States of America and Canada, have the option of early check-in starting from 12 hours and up to 4 hours before their flight departure time at row 11 in the Vertical Circulation Node (VCN).
Qatar Airways passengers traveling for Hajj have a dedicated check-in at row 6. Arriving Hajj passengers are requested to carry no more than a single container of 5 liters of Zamzam water per person unless instructed otherwise by their airline.
Hamad International Airport offers self-service check-in and bag-drop facilities for passenger convenience. These facilities allow passengers to check-in, print boarding passes and bag tags, tag their bags, and drop them at the bag drop quickly before proceeding to immigration. The airport also provides bag wrap facilities.
It is important to note that check-in closes 60 minutes prior to departure time, and boarding gates close 20 minutes prior to departure time.
Make Use of E-Gate Services
Passengers aged 18 and above can take advantage of the e-gate services at the airport by using their passport.
Security Check
During security checks, passengers are reminded to ensure that they do not carry any prohibited items, such as liquids, aerosols, and gels exceeding 100ml.
All liquid containers should be packed in a clear, re-sealable plastic bag. Electronic items larger than mobile phones must be removed from bags and placed in trays for X-ray screening. Small vehicles powered by lithium batteries, like hoverboards, are not allowed for transportation.
For a seamless journey, please follow the signage available at the terminal or ask airport staff for assistance.
